| The first problem you run into when pulling in to the parking lot is remembering if you had reservations at Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express. As much as I travel, I use the two interchangebly and that created a problem when I went to check in because there is a Holiday Inn and Express right next to each other.
The rooms are all lined up on one side of the hotel with half of the rooms overlooking the atrium. Unfortunately, I got stuck on that side of the hotel.
In the atrium, you have the pool, hot tub, bar and large gathering areas which is great if your there to relaxand have some fun, but being in town on business, it was important that I get to sleep early. Being right next to the pool on homecoming weekend at U of I made that pretty difficult.
Other than that problem, the rooms are what you expect from Holiday Inn. Nothing fancy, but a nice, clean place to get some sleep. I never saw a bill, so I can't really comment on the value, but if your in town and need to get some sleep, I would suggest going to the Holiday Inn Express and leave the Holiday Inn for the partyers.
