I shouldn't give away local secrets, but Latigo Kid is the best Mexican restaurant in the county. The food is very authentic! Try Dean's Beans for an appetizer and Shrimp Fajitas or Enchiladas Rancheras for the meal- they're great. The Margaritas are perfecto! The service is very good. The waiters are very accurate and the service is fast. I grant that it could use a remodel, but the murals on the walls are very nice. Between the food and the service at Latigo Kid, I will never return to El Torito ever again!

I read such great reviews on this site and gave it a try. Please do not order the chicke fajitas. It was hands down the worst chicken fajietas I had ever tasted. It was literally swiming with tons of dark tomatoe sauce. Service was way below par. Yeah, if they know you they come around otherwise forget about it.

Save your time and money and go to LA PAZ right down the road in calabasas.

We're 'locals' and this is our hangout. Why? Because the food is great, the drinks are great, and the staff are great. We should probably tell you the opposite since we'd prefer to keep Latigo's a secret but we're compelled. lol - Just a note: Fridays are REALLY crowded so if you can go on alternate days, your experience will be better. The only drawback I could ever say about Latigo's is since its a family restaurant, they allow kids in the bar area. Sometimes, the whole bar is full of kids which doesn't fair well with the folks going to the bar to sit and have a drink only. You will find NO seats available in the bar on Fridays until later in the evening. Also, since Latigo's is next door to the Canyon Club, when large headliners are playing, expect the restaurant to be even more crowded. But.. keep in mind, its crowded for a reason. Its a great place!

My family has been going here for 18 years. I just came across this site and had to write a review. Actually we are going there again tonight. I have 3 grown sons and they go there and bring their wives and friends all the time. It is a great little place. It has been family own by the same family for over 20 years. Frank (deceased), Pat, & owners Pete and Diane are wonderful hosts. They know our names and the family and make us feel so welcome when we arrive. They make us feel like family. The staff is just as friendly. Some of the guys have been there over 20 years. Polo & 3 brothers work there, and a Uncle in the kitchen. The food is great. The prices are perfect for what you get. The atmosphere is fine. The food and staff is why we go there. Not to sit in sum swank place that over charges for the atmosphere. There drinks are not watered down either. Be sure to try the Chili Verde, yum. I recommend them highly. Enjoy.

My experience there was fantastic! I go every thursday now and every time I go it just gets better. All of the workers are great people. Great food, good drinks, just fun! They have a really nice bar area with great service.
