| The restaurant is beautiful. We loved the romantic, historical feeling. The service was very nice. Our appetizer (fried artichoke hearts) was good, the salad was also great, and the bread was fabulous. We were having a great time until the food arrived. I hate to say it and I have never had this experience before, but it was horrible! Terrible, icky, gross. It just tasted like an amateur cook was in the back. Maybe we ordered not the best dishes? I ordered the Chicken Saltimboca and the noodles were gummy and mushy and the cappacola on top was rubbery. I could not eat it and I will eat pretty much anything. I'm not picky at all. My husband ordered the Fettuccinni Alfredo with Chicken. It was tolerable. We both at some of his, but did not finish either dish. We were not impressed with our entrees. Sad.
We did order the creme brulee, which was very delicious. I think we'll go back for the atmosphere and the dessert only. Maybe we'll be adventurous and try the food again (we'll ask for the most popular dishes), but I don't know. Definitely try it, though, it's a beautiful restaurant and maybe you'll have better luck than we did.

| All five of us agreed that Anzio's has the best food for the buck we've had in the Phoenix area, and we've tried a lot of places in our 41 years here. On this evening, two members of our party have been professional cooks, including my 40 year-old son who, after 22 years in the business, is back in school getting his HRM degree. They were most impressed with Anzio. The service is excellent, the prices are consistent with the food, the menu is diverse and creative, and the setting at Falcon Field is outstanding. They even have a taxi-way right to the restaurant so folks can fly there as well as drive there. There was a change in Kitchen Managers, followed by a major kitchen remodeling and a new menu in the 2004-2005 period. My wife, son, and I have gone there many times since then and the quality never falters. Try their homemade lobster-filled ravioli, the veal chianti, or the shrimp and seafood pesto. I know this sounds like an advertisement, but I am in no way affiliated with Anzio, nor is any member of my family. We're just very satisfied customers.
