| Doppo, in my humble opinion, is one of the best restaurants in the East Bay. It is a small place so be prepared for a wait but it will be worth it. The dishes are thoughtfully designed - creative but not too wacky. The food is prepared expertly with fresh, fine and rare ingredients. The service is attentive without being intrusive or snobby. It is pricey though. Also, the wine glasses (really tumblers) bother me both because they are too fussy and because they warm the wine when you hold them. Wine glasses have stems so you can hold the glass without transferring body heat to the wine through the glass. I know it sounds pretentious but sorry. Other than that minor issue, I recommend it very highly! The menu changes frequently.
