| My friend and I often share Ethopian cuisine. Our experience, although pleasant was a little disappointing. We expected, based on the Washingtonian Magazine rating and other reviews, that the food would have the "homecooked" "authentic" advantage. Although the food was by no means "bad" we found the greens tasted "packaged" and the vegetables as a whole were very bland. The lamb was very tasty, however, it was not as meaty or sparse. The honey wine was excellent. Very tasty but beware of the "kick." Although we are unsure whether we would return to Etete, it was a pleasurable experience. We found the staff to be very friendly and more professional than other Ethiopian restaurants in the area, however, you will have to be patience due to translation issues.
