| I wondered in looking for a place to wait for my wife and her friend who were attacking Nordstrom's. The young woman who greeted me was so pleasant that I thought I was back in Minnesota at a Lutheran church! My wife and her friend saw me in the window, joined me and we had the absolute best food we had enjoyed in a long time. The food was honest, savory, unique and well presented. WE asked questions, we swooned, we were in food heaven. My only regret is that I am back in Minnesota and even though St. Paul and Minneapolis are lousy with restaurants--none of them are as charming delightful and as tasty as Sante'. It is on the top of our list for reasons to return to Spokane...

| My wife and I have dined at Sante on many occasions since they opened last October. We have been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. This is the only place in Spokane where you can be assured that everything that comes out of the kitchen was prepared there. The sausages, prosciutto, salami, and gravlax are all prepared on premises and are available for purchase at the counter. There is a complete vegetarian menu available in addition to the regular offerings as well. The menus are changed on a regular basis so you can always count on finding something new to taste with every visit. There is a great selection of Northwest beers and wines in addition to imports. This is easily Spokane's best new restaurant if not actually the best restaurant in Spokane.

| Jeremy and Kate Hansen are sure to success with Sante', a European inspired restaurant that offers gourmet menu selection, an espresso bar, and a Charcuterie (loosly translated it means deli ). Jeremy Hansen is also the executive chef, drawing his inspiation from culinary education and experience in France, Portland, and New York. Blending the elements of gourmet cuisine, with espresso and specialty meat supplier is an impressive feat when done as seamlessly as the Hansens have achieved. These Spokane natives even support local farmers and buisnesses following their mantra to "eat globally, act locally". Their foolproof menu boasts homemade items that are not a rendition of the normal but a reinvention of a classic. From ketchup and mustard, to the complex mastery of curing meat and handmaking cheese, nearly everything served is a creation of the Executive Chef. Naturally a Charcuterie is available for patrons wanting to leave with more than a doggie bad. A Charcuterie is a shop that sells foods prepared ready for table. Yes like a deli, except when you are offering delicasies such as duck proscitto, smoked bacon, and Gravalax (sea salt and dill cured salmon) the translation deli falls short. Located just one block from both the Convention center and Riverfront park on W.Main, Sante' is postioned to cater to both the black tie and blue collar. The atmosphere during brunch is casual enough for loitering in your blue jeans, but when the lights go down for Friday and Saurday night diner, although coat and tie are never required, you certainly wouldn't feel overdressed. Afterall, you wouldn't want your diner to look better than you do!
